And the winner is (of the Super Bowl Drawing, that is) … Ernie O’Dell of Redondo Beach. The lucky ticket was drawn by SWI consumer George Dawson. Congratulations to Ernie and his wife, who will be attending the Super Bowl in Houston! Air transportation will be via Continental Airlines, and they will be staying for 4 nights at the Howard Johnson Motor Lodge.
Other winners were: $50 Costco gift certificate, Courtney Campbell of Ryder Transportation; Whole Foods gift basket, Ed Gohn of Torrance; Trader Joe’s gift basket, Ed Ayer of Torrance. In addition, Judy Senter won a Cross pen and pencil set for selling the winning ticket; and Board President Jimmy Coleman won dinner for two at the Outback Steakhouse for selling the most tickets.
Thanks again to our committee members: Warren Kelly (chair), Jimmy Donatelli, Florence Bagsby, and Judy Senter. Special thanks to Bobbie Hedges for obtaining the donated prizes, and to all who contributed to the success of the event. We netted approximately $2,000 from the drawing.
New additions to the Board of Directors: At the January meeting of the Board, President Jimmy Coleman appointed the following members to the Board: Paul Flahive and Bobbie Hedges to serve 3-year terms; Jack Stuckey to serve a one-year term. While Paul and Bobbie are returning board members, Jack is a new face to the Arc. He lives in Hermosa Beach, is employed in the advertising business, and is a former board member of the Hermosa Art Foundation.
Don’t forget to send in your pledge! Pledges received so far are from: Thi Le, Mary Craig, Dennis McCormick, Olson Family Trust, Edith Kettering, Alfred Burke, Costella Franklin, Margaret Vonderschmitt, Walter Beckett, John Nichelson, Beverly Baron, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Garcia, Juanita Harvey, Charles Holmes, Sylvia Cameron, Mr. and Mrs. R.
