Happy New Year to all members of The Arc-South Bay! We hope that this year will bring peace, happiness and comfort to all.

Congratulations to our See’s Candies Super Sellers (Winter Campaign). Topping the list was Juanita Harvey (SWI) with $505! Wow, what a sugar high! Coming in second place was Hattie Davis (ADC-G) with a not-so-measly $473! Third place went to Alice Simpson (ADC-G) with $228. First and second place winners received a free one-pound box of See’s assorted chocolates. Also scoring with high sales were: Sylvia Cameron, Paul Kang, Mr. and Mrs. Acuna, Ruby Rhodes, Mr. and Mrs. Giron, Mr. and Mrs. Vink, Bobbie Hull and Llluana Miles. To each of you and everyone else who purchased candy, our sincere thanks for contributing to a very successful and sweet campaign.

Welcome to new members: John Freeman of Playa Del Rey, Wilda Norton of Compton, Dorothy Hale of Redondo Beach, Edward Vincent of Palos Verdes, and Leyla Camacho of Gardena. May you have a long and rewarding association with The Arc-South Bay.

Don’t forget the Annual Membership Meeting and Installation of the 2002 Board of Directors on Thursday, January 31, 2002. Come and meet old friends and new – board members and staff – and let us know what’s important to you. The meeting will be held at our Southwest Industries/Administration facility at 1735 W. Rosecrans Avenue, Gardena. First on the agenda are tours of the facility—see our consumers at work until 3:30. Then comes the meeting and “State of the Arc” speech by President Paul Flahive. Flahive will present status reports on all Arc programs as well as information on the affiliation issues with The Arc-California and The Arc-US. Following Flahive’s presentation, the Board of Directors for 2002 will be installed: Dolores Alexander, Florence Bagsby, James Coleman, Paul Flahive, Bobbie Hedges, Paul Kang, Warren Kelly, Laura Johnson, Tom Wong, and Lorenzo Ybarra. P.S. Refreshments will be served. J
