Well, the fireworks are over, our booth is closed and we have a bit more money in the bank. Although not as profitable as in some previous years, we did net about $9,000, which is nothing to sneeze at. Word is that when the Fourth falls on a “real” weekend, and not on Friday, the sales will pick up. Thanks to all of our fantastic volunteers who kept the booth running harmoniously.

The Board of Directors recently signed the Affiliation agreement with the Arc-US. This agreement is in effect for one year, during which time we, as members, should be monitoring the policies of The Arc, with an ear to re-signing or resigning in a year’s time.

In Memoriam: Anthony Clark, husband of Lorna Clark and father to three children, including Janice, died May 28. Tony and Lorna were members for many years, and Janice has been active in our sports programs as well as attending Southwest Industries. Tony will be missed by all who knew him.
